The School of Art and Design is one of New Zealand’s largest such schools, providing multiple pathways into the creative professions. We have more than 1300 students and offer qualifications ranging from certificate to masters and doctoral level. Our qualifications balance originality, creativity and conceptual development with theoretical and professional studies.

Creativity in the real world
AUT has offered art and design qualifications for over 30 years. The areas we cover include fashion, textiles, digital design, graphic design, product design and spatial design. We also offer a comprehensive visual arts programme and a range of short courses. We have close links with industry to ensure we provide relevant qualifications that meet the needs of employers. The school provides world class facilities including three galleries, a 3D lab, digital, photographic and moving image facilities and specialist design studios.
