APPLIED VISUAL ART - L7 Bachelor of Design

If you’re planning a career in the arts, perhaps as studio artist, designer or craftsperson, then this is the programme for you. Explore and develop your own personal artistic vision in order to define an art or design practice based on traditional and/or new media. Plus, gain the knowledge and skills of self employment and how to set up your own studio.

Duration
3 years full time (recommended). Part time may be possible – contact the School for details.

Entry criteria
Either
• 42 NCEA credits at Level 3 or higher, including 14 credits in each of three subjects,
• 8 NCEA literacy credits at Level 2 or higher in English or Te Reo Mäori; 4 credits must be in reading and 4 credits must be in writing; and
• 14 NCEA numeracy credits at Level 1 or higher in Mathematics or Pangarau.
or
• CPIT’s L4 Certificate in Design.
and
• A portfolio with examples of recent work across a range of media (contact the School for details).
